BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University's cross country teams are set to host The Sun Conference Championships for the second time in four years on Saturday November 7, 2009. The Warriors are one of 8 The Sun Conference programs to compete in the one day event at Lekarica Golf Course in Lake Wales, Florida
“This is always an exciting time of year, especially when you're the host,” stated head coach Terrell Griffin. “To run in front of friends and family during a championship means just a little more and I feel that it'll bring out the best in our athletes.”
The championships begin at 8 a.m. with the women's 5K race followed by the men's 8K race at 8:45 a.m. Team and individual awards will be distributed after the completion of the last race. The team champions and the top five men and women not on the first place teams will qualify for the national championship meet, held November 21, 2009 in Ft. Vancouver, WA.
Admission and parking is free; spectators are asked to park in designated areas.
