St Louis - The Webber Men's Bowling team continued their successful 2009-10 campaign with a 3rd place finish in the McKendree Baker Challenge at AMF Strike & Spare Lanes. WIU averaged 219 for 40 games of Baker breaking many team scoring records.
During the event, the team broke many team records, including:
- New Qualifying Baker Record: 219.5 (40 Games)
- High Games: 289, 268 (new regular season record - 289)
- New 24 Game Baker Consecutive Record: 5394 (224.8 average)
- New 16 Game Baker Record: 3564 (222 average)
- New 8 Game Baker Consecutive Record: 1887 (235.8 average)
- New 4 Game Block Records: 948, 939 (2 consecutive 4-game blocks)
- New 4 Game Consecutive Record: 1004 (289, 234, 234, 247)
Power Points, for qualifying for post-season play, are given-out prior to any match play format.
The tournament final featured a Match Play format, sudden death, best-of-three format. Seeded 3rd, the team lost to Northern Illinois University in the opening match (222-226, 152-190). Top seeded Lindenwood also lost in the opening round. Second seed Newman University won the tournament.
