Lake Wales, Fla. – The Warriors men golf team calmed runner-up in the 6th Annual Start 2 Finish Webber Classic, Monday (February 8th), at the Lake Wales Country Club, in Lake Wale.
University of South Carolina Beaufort placed first, shooting a 293 in the final for an 887 team score. The Warriors played it close coming in 3 strokes behind the Sand Sharks. In the final round WIU shot a 287 for an 890 team score.
Adam Galbraith, a freshman from Webber, shot a 69 in the final round and the Sand Sharks John Pannone shot a 72, as both men had an individual 217 final round score. In the playoff round Jon Pannone was victorious.
Other qualifiers for the tournament were: Adam Galbraith, WIU, Mika Becktor, SCAD, Tom Gamble, WIU and Brett McCurdy Jr., NWU.
Webber students competing in the tournament were: Adam Galbraith 75-73-69-217, Tom Gamble 76-75-70-221, Craig Isabel 74-80-72-226, Matt Bransby 77-76-76-229, and Alexander Carpenhall 74-80-76-230.
