Babson Park, Fla. – The Webber International men's tennis team bounced back from their loss on Tuesday by defeating William Jewell College (MO) on Wednesday, 6-2, at the Auburndale City Tennis Courts.
WIU went up 2-1 after doubles play. The Warriors #1 team of Philippe Andermatt and Caio Cardoso won 8-5 and the #3 team of Juuso Tapaneinen and Thiago Marion won 8-3.
Singles winners for Webber were: #2 Philippe Andermatt 7-6, 6-1; #3 Juuso Tapaneinen 6-1, 6-2; #4 Caio Cardoso 6-0, 6-2; #6 Tyler Heath 7-5, 7-5. The number one singles match was canceled by mutual agreement of coaches because of time constraints. William Jewell has been receiving votes on the NAIA National Poll.
Webber is now 11-4 on the season.
“Anytime we beat a team that is ranked or that has received votes on the NAIA Poll we regard that as a good win for us,” stated Coach
