Babson Park, Fla. – The WIU men's tennis team played a very solid match and defeated Campbellsville University (KY) 7-2 at the Auburndale City Tennis Courts on Thursday night.
The Warriors are now 12-4 on the season.
WIU won 2 of 3 doubles matches to go up 2-1. Winning at #2 doubles was Rafael Teixeira and Juuso Tapaneinen, 8-4. The #3 doubles team of Tyler Heath and Marcel Schmitt won 8-5.
Winners for the Warriors in singles were: #2 Philippe Andermatt 6-2, 6-0; #3 Juuso Tapaneinen 6-1, 6-1; #4 Caio Cardoso 6-4, 6-2; #5 Thiago Marion 6-4, 6-3; #6 Tyler Heath 6-1, 6-2.
“Our team was ready to play tonight and it showed,” stated Coach

“This was our third consecutive day of playing tough teams and we actually got better each match we played,” added Heath.
