Tampa Catholic’s Sproat and Martinez Choose Webber

BABSON PARK, Fla. – Tampa Catholic teammates Adam Sproat, a right-handed pitcher, and infielder Alex Martinez made their commitment yesterday to Webber International University.
This spring Sproat has appeared in 11 games for the Crusaders with a 3-2 record and one save. His ERA is 2.38 with 25 strikeouts in 32.1 innings. Sproat said that Webber presented his best opportunity to be a starter next year.
Martinez has been a three year starter at third base for the Crusaders. “I am really excited about my choice. Webber is a perfect fit for me and I am looking forward to the opportunity to contribute right away.”
Head coach Brad Niethammer stated, “I believe we have signed two quality student athletes in Ryan and Alex. They will both have a great opportunity to contribute to our program as freshman.” With the addition of Sproat and Martinez the Warriors have signed six high school players so far. Others include:
