Babson Park, Fla. – The Lady Warriors started the season by defeating Thomas (GA) University 3-1 to start the season undefeated.
Nina Joergensen had the first goal of the season for the Warriors and Brittany Cox with the assist at the 9:37 minute mark. That was the only goal in the first half for the Warriors, as the ladies attempted ten shots in the first half alone, and Jennifer DeFrancesco had an impressive two saves during the half.
The second half belonged to Brittany Cox, as she scored the Lady Warriors last two goals. The first goal was scored at the 48:00 minute mark on a breakaway, and Kayde Kluge came up with an assist.
Thomas tried to stay in the game when Carina Spengler scored a goal at the 57:07 minute mark and Myra Jenkins had an assist, but it was not enough to keep up with our Lady Warriors, for Brittany Cox scored again at 86:31 minute mark with Kelsey Coty’s assist on another beak away point verses Thomas University.
Our Ladies will be traveling to Embry Riddle University Monday, August 30, 2010; match time is to start at 6 p.m.
