Lake Wales, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors football team were victorious again with a victory, their second of the season at Legion Field, over the Tigers of Georgetown College.

Both teams were scoreless in the first quarter of the game. Georgetown took the lead with 13:05 remaining in the first half by scoring on a 27 yard field goal. The Warriors did not waste any time, following the kickoff, in marching down the field and scoring. A 48 yard pass completion from Webber quarter back, Torrance Moise, to wide receiver Nick Guglielmello, set the Warriors up in the red zone. Moise scored on a 9 yard keeper to score the first six points for Webber. Mason Prater kicked the extra point to put the Warriors up 7-3 with 11:26 left on the clock in the first half. The Warriors went up 14-3 on a 13 yard pass from Moise to Deonte Fielder and Prater, again, converted the extra point kick. The first half ended with the score remaining 14-3, Warriors.
Webber expanded their lead early in the third quarter when Taylor Atwood scored after a handoff from Moise. Prater converted and the Warriors were up 21-3. Answering back with a 26 yard field goal by Alex Kreimer, Georgetown cut the margin to 21-6 with 6:20 left in the third quarter. Following a 12 yard Moise to Andre Edwards completion, Fielder rushed for a touchdown expanding WIU's lead 27-6.
In the fourth quarter the Tigers mounted a valiant comeback attempt. The Tigers scored two touchdowns, one on an interception return by Patrick Daugherty and the other a 34 yard touchdown pass from Kaelin Ammons to Coty Minnis. With 55 seconds to go in the game Georgetown attempted an onsides kick that ended up going out of bounds.
The Warriors were able to run out the remainder of the clock time with two snaps and held on for a 27-20 win over the 26th ranked NAIA team in the nation.
“We're 2-0,” stated Webber's head Coach Kelly Scott, “It's good to beat NAIA teams. When we play at our same level of opponents, we are pretty good.” About the final score, Scott said, “We just let up at the end. We can't put ourselves in that situation ever again.”
Sophomore Torrance Moise was 13-24 passing with 178 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 52 yards and one touchdown. Sophomore Deonte Fielder scored two touchdowns and rushed for 45 yards.
