Warriors have finish strong at Southeast Classic

Babson Park, Fla. -The men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Berry College (Rome, GA) over the weekend to compete in the Southeast Classic.  The Warriors placed 19th and 21st out of 34 men's and 35 women's teams respectively. 

On the men's side, Gabriel Barron led the way for the second consecutive week placing 64th out of 309 competing athletes finishing the 8k course in 27:14.  After a race absence from Warriors lineup Brandon Scott was second across the line in 27:32 good enough for 86th place.  Rounding out the scoring were Eric Kieffer (115th, 27:57), Mateo Carreno (171st, 28:49), and Justin Perkins (201st, 29:23); also competing hard was freshman Deion Cossio (221st, 29:59). 

The Lady Warriors were led again by freshman Lauren Nygren who crossed the tape in 20:48 which was good enough for 92nd place out of 310.  Following closely behind was Katheana Jean-Baptiste finished 104th overall in a time of 20:59.  Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Warriors were Fallon Mayer (128th, 21:17), Stephanie Lucas (149th, 21:37), and Venisha McIntosh (233rd, 23:22); also putting in a strong effort was Barbara Mendes (288th, 25:45).

The Warriors are next in action at The Sun Conference Cross Country Championship meet host by Ave Maria on Saturday November 5th.  The meet is held on campus and admission is free.
