Webber Fall Athletes Report

BABSON PARK, Fla. – Tuesday, at Webber International University in Babson Park, was a busy day with football players reporting to begin practice for the 2011 season. But, today, was even busier as student-athletes for volleyball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's cross-country reported to campus. Approximately an additional 100 student-athletes arrived on campus today.
After getting settled in, attending team meetings, and taking physical exams, all teams will begin practice on Thursday. “This is an exciting time of the year for our Athletic Department,” stated WIU A.D., Bill Heath.
Both cross-country teams open their seasons on September 2nd, as they travel to the University of Tampa Early Bird Classic. Men's soccer opens their season on Warriors Field on August 27th, when they host Johnson and Wales University. The women's soccer team opens their season in Winter Haven on August 18th, with an exhibition game with Palm Beach Atlantic at 7:00 p.m.
The Lady Warriors Volleyball Team opens their season at South Florida Community College on August 27th, at 12 noon.
