Lady Warriors Continue to Struggle

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Lady Warriors hosted Voorhees College (Lady Tigers) in the Sabbagh Athletic Center on Tuesday, January 24. The Lady Warriors came into the game looking to end their losing streak.

In the first half of the game it looked as if the Lady Warriors were going to end the streak as they came out strong scoring the first points of the game. The Lady Tigers would not go away as they took the lead with a three pointer. The Lady Warriors would then gain as much as a seven point lead over the Lady Tigers. The Lady Tigers would take over with two minutes left in the half and go into halftime up by four points, 33-29.

In the second half the Lady Tigers came out and never gave the Lady Warriors the opportunity to regain the lead. Everything that the Lady Warriors were doing well in the first half seemed to fall apart in the second half as the Lady Tigers extended their lead to as much as 16 points over the Lady Warriors ending the game, 73-66.

Leading the Lady Warriors on the court were Kala Alicea and Sarah Dileonardo. Kala Alicea scored 18 points, three rebounds, and had two assists. Sarah Dileonardo scored 12 points, eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, and had one block.

Leading the Lady Tigers on the court was Courtney McDuffie who scored 15 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and had one block.

The Lady Warriors record falls to 2-18 overall and remains 1-5 in The Sun Conference and Voorhees College Lady Tigers improves their record to 11-11 overall.

The Lady Warriors will return to action on Friday, January 27, as they host Crooked Lake Rivals Warner University (Lady Royals).
