Deivon Tate Moves on to Milwaukee Mustangs

BABSON PARK, Fla. - Deivon Tate, cornerback for the WIU in 2010, moves on with his football career to Milwaukee Mustangs. He will be reporting February 15, 2012 for preseason practices.

Deivon Tate was raised in Miami, Florida where he graduated from Booker T. Washington. He was in 2008 Bay Valley All Conference selection where he took the All California 1st Team Defense.  Along with leading the state in interceptions, he was also 1st on the team in blocked kicks, 1st in kick/punt return yards, 7th on the team in tackles, and he ran 3 interceptions/punt returns back for touchdowns with Yuba College in California. Deivon Tate had several rankings in California State; ranked #1 in interceptions, #17 in punt return yards per attempt. His N.C.F.A rankings were: #1 in interceptions, #9 in punt returns average. Deivon Tate led all Junior Colleges with 8 interceptions in 10 games where he returned 2 for touchdowns, and averaged 20.62 yards per interception.

Tate played cornerback for WIU in 2010 season after transferring from North Alabama University. Deivon Tate led the NAIA in interceptions per game and interceptions with 10 interceptions in 11 games. He also led the NAIA in passes defended 1.6 per game, where he had broken up 8 passes along with his interceptions. Tate had 23 total tackles with 2 of them for losses, and 2.1 tackles per game.

Deivon Tate signed with Milwaukee Mustangs, an Arena Football League team, on October 3, 2011 as a cornerback. He will be playing in the Bradley Center. Click on the link to take you to that website: home, roster, and schedule.

• May 11: Cleveland Gladiators at Milwaukee Mustangs
• June 22: Arizona Rattlers at Milwaukee Mustangs
• June 29: Milwaukee Mustangs at Cleveland Gladiators
• July 6: Milwaukee Mustangs at Jacksonville Sharks

Three games the Milwaukee Mustangs will be visiting Florida teams:

1. Saturday, May 26 2012 @ Tampa Bay Storm 6:30 pm
2. Friday, July 06 2012 @ Jacksonville Sharks 7:00 pm
3. Sunday, July 22 2012 @ Orlando Predators 1:00 pm
