Women's Soccer Gets Out Into the Community in Their Off Season

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Lady Warriors are training hard during spring and  getting out into the community in their off season.  The team attended the  Winter Haven KICKS U-14 game Saturday January 28, 2012 in Winter Haven.  The Warriors help train the KICKS team, who is Coached by former Webber Coach Steve Warner.  “We really enjoy helping this team, they have a great group of girls.  It has been exciting for my players and I to watch their progress over the years.  It is really starting to show in their skill level the amount of work they are doing, ” stated Head Women's Soccer Coach Jami Hagy.

The KICKS hosted the Azalea Lady Eagles at Polk State College in the 12th round of the USA Soccer league season. The KICKS entered the game with a 5-2-3 record, while the Eagles came in at 2-3-6. Since December 3, the KICKS have not lost a game and have recorded 5 shut-outs and were looking to extend it to 6 against Azalea. Although Azalea played a strong game and created a few chances, the KICKS prevailed with a 1-0 win and recorded their 7th shutout of the season. Scoring for the KICKS was Madison “Mackie” Pike on and assist from Leah Borders. Lexi Jones recorder her 7th shutout of the season.

The KICKS would like to thank Coach Jami Hagy and all the members of the WIU Women's soccer team for attending the game  and for their support of our program over the last few years.
