WIU Athletic Hall Of Fame
The WIU Athletic Hall of Fame Criteria/Guideline Committee have held meetings to decide upon how the WIU Athletic Hall of Fame should be commenced. The committee consists of; Webber President Rex R. Yentes, Athletic Director Bill Heath, Dean of Students Steve Warner, the Faculty Athletic Representative Dr. Elfie Farchmin, the longest serving current coach, Brad Niethammer (baseball), former Athletic Director Nancy Nichols, and Sports Communications Director Monica Spratley.
The following are the guidelines and criteria for induction into the Webber Athletic Hall of Fame, there will be a maximum of five (5) inductees per year, unless there is an outstanding circumstance. Any member of the public can nominate someone for consideration for the Hall of Fame.
There are to be three categories in which someone could be nominated:
- Student Athlete
- Coach/Administration
- Distinguished Service
Student-Athlete
- Must have graduated from Webber with either an associates or bachelors degree
- Five (5) year must have elapsed since the nominee's last season of competition
- Complete teams can be nominated without individuals meeting the student-athlete criteria
Coach/Administrator
- The nominee must have had at least a ten (10) year tenure at Webber or can be nominated five (5) years after leaving Webber
Distinguished Service
- This individual does not have to be a Webber graduate
- They must have had a strong connection with Webber
- Off the field activities will be taken into strong consideration
