Asst. Coach Matt Reed

Coach Reed graduated from Haines City High School, Florida in 1999 where he lettered in baseball for four years.  During his time with the Hornets he was nominated as All-District, All-County, and All-Region each of his four years.  In 1998 he garnered second team All-State as a pitcher.

After graduating Reed was drafted in the 1999 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Minnesota Twins.  He played for the Twins organization for three years and then moved to independent ball with the Greenville Bluesmen in the Texas Louisiana League for a year.

After Reed's professional career he was fortunate enough to play one year of college baseball at Webber.  He led the Warriors to a record breaking year where he started at shortstop.  The 2003 team broke the school record for wins (37), and was the first team in school history to earn a Regional Tournament berth.  Reed led the team in runs scored (40) and was second in stolen bases (35).  Reed was nationally recognized for his stolen base percentage by the NAIA where he went 35 for 38.

Coach Reed is currently entering his eighth year as part of the Warrior baseball staff where he is in charge of the middle infielders and base running.

Reed resides in Winter Haven, Florida and graduated from Webber in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Sport Management, and is currently pursuing his MBA in Sport Management.
