Additional Benefits

In addition to training at one of the top collegiate programs in the country, bowlers who come to WIU have the opportunity to compete (on free weekends) against some of the top players in the country in two youth tournament series held in Florida.  This additional competition helps our bowlers implement the advanced knowledge in a competitive environment.

Florida has consistently produced some of the top youth bowlers in the entire country.  In 2008, at Junior Gold, Florida residents finished 4th, 9th, 10th & 12th on the boys side with Florida ladies finishing 1st, 12th and 16th.

Kegel Youth Point Series

Held at the WIU bowling team training facility, the monthly KYPS tournament series features a two squad six-game block on challenging sport conditions.  The challenging formats include short-long dual pattern tournaments, one-ball multiple pattern tournaments as well as competition on other difficult patterns such as the US Open, Masters, Kegel Navigation series as well as PBA patterns.  Most of the top Florida players compete in this on a regular basis.  http://www.kegeltrainingcenter.com/
