Head Coach Tim Edfors

Edfors starts his fifth year as head volleyball coach for Webber International University.

2005   Record 28 - 7
2006   Record 23 - 7
2007   Record 29 - 6
2008   Record 27 - 10

Over the past three years as head coach, Edfors has broken just about every warrior record. During his first year as head coach Edfors broke the Warrior volleyball team record by over eight wins ending with a 28-7 season. During 2006 and 2007 seasons the team has also broke the records in: assists, blocks, kills and digs.  Edfors holds most of these attributes to his strength in recruiting and also the dedication of his team which plays pretty much all year round.  During the off season, it is very rare not to find a few of his athletes playing beach on one of the three beach courts that he built.  Edfors has coached for over 15 years at all levels and is excited about getting started with his fourth year at WIU.

For the 2008 season, the team is bringing in seven new freshmen and 4 new community college transfers.  This will be the first year Edfors puts together a JV Squad to help make his program even stronger.  Edfors believes that by mid-season, some of his JV girls will be knocking on the door trying to win a spot on the varsity squad.  “This is going to help keep everyone motivated and focused” . Edfors also managed to bring in a couple key community college athletes with the experience to make an immediate impact.

Before coming to Webber International University Coach Edfors has held the position of assistant coach for the South Florida Community College volleyball program. While at SFCC, Edfors helped by over doubling the win record from 2002 to 2004.

With all of his experience and energy Edfors plans to motivate the Warriors to work hard and take pride in the program. When this is accomplished, he feels the team will be ready to compete at the National Level and have the work ethics to really put Webber on the map for its volleyball program.  As a former teacher of seven years, Edfors demands his team to be more successful in the classroom than on the court however he settles for nothing less than their best on the court.

Edfors believes that his three strongest strengths are communication skills, experience and ability to motivate. Edfors expects to see big things over the next few years for the WIU volleyball program. One of his biggest goals is to start the first collegiate level NAIA female beach volleyball team.
