POSITION/TITLE

INTERN-ASSISTANT STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design & implement year-round strength & conditioning programs for a selected portion of the 25 sports at WIU (exact teams TBD based on competency)
Assist in the complete training of all teams, including SAQ drills, weight room sessions, conditioning sessions, exercise technique, rehabilitation, nutrition/supplementation education, etc.
Complete all assignments within the Webber Mentorship Program
Assist with managing the fitness center, student workers, and group fitness sessions
Assist with all fundraising activities within the strength & conditioning department

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree (or in pursuit of) in Exercise Science or related program
CSCS or SCCC certification not required, but preferred
CPR/AED certification
Ability to gather data, compile information, prepare reports, and work with Microsoft Office programs
Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, organizational, and managerial skills
Ability to work effectively with culturally and economically diverse populations

TERMS OF CONTRACT

9 month mentorship (August – April)
30 hours per week minimum
Free on-campus housing, shared with other coaches

This is an unpaid position with the possiblity of supplemental on-campus employment
